I do not know what I thought when I bought this book. I do like it for reference of some of the Ancient Gods. While it is a great book, I found it a bit lame for my taste, as far as relating to other works of Michael Ford and the demonic creatures and illustrations that stir the imagination. It was still a good book that I would recommend reading. Some of the book was like reading a soap opera from the past. Zeus and his family, wives, children, etc. are all discussed, including Hecate, Apollo, Persephone, an invocation to Hades, and much more.
