Paige Forbes has been in love with Danny Napolitano for most of her life. There has never been a time she couldn't remember loving him. She assumed he thought of her as Jimmy's dorky sister, but was grateful when he responded to her letters while stationed in the Middle East. Even with all her studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, and work at the bookstore, she would always find the time to correspond with him while he was defending her freedom. Paige knew he would never be seriously interested in her because she wasn't pretty, and had always been on the plump side, but he would have a pen pal for as long as he wanted one.

Danny couldn't believe Paige was the same little girl he tormented all through school. He really enjoyed receiving her letters from home, and couldn't believe how much he never really knew her. She surprised and delighted him on all levels. She was becoming more important to him than he was willing to admit. With all the death and destruction all around, he wasn't sure it was wise for her to be involved with him.

While Paige and her friend Tia were enjoying Fantasy Fest, she had the surprise of her life. Danny and his buddy Leo were home! Their reunion was everything she had hoped for until she let it slip that she had always loved him. He wasn't happy at her revelation, and she fled the hotel in humiliation.

Paige and Danny are a couple to root for! There are misunderstandings, and real communication has to happen if this couple is to survive. Danny has gone through hell, and has a lot to deal with being home. Paige has her own issues to deal with, but perhaps the biggest is her lack of faith in herself.

Paige has had a crush on her brother's best friend Danny since she was a child. Now a grad student, she sees her opportunity to worm her way into his heart when he is deployed in the Gulf and in need of letters from home. As she tries to slim down for her man, while buying sexy lingerie and getting romance advice from her best gal pal, Paige can't wait to show her new self off. When circumstances bring him home to be reunited with her, they are both ready to take the relationship a step further, perhaps farther than he is ready for. When she's accused of embezzlement at work and she and Danny have a misunderstanding, will they be able lean on each other for support?

This had the makings to be an excellent story. The dialogue is clunky, the characters underdeveloped, and the writing is average. Paige's letters are so banal and boring that I cannot fathom anyone looking forward to receiving one, let alone fall for her. While the book is billed as erotic and includes graphic scenes, it lacks sensuality or chemistry. As for the mystery, it was so lacking and obvious.

I couldn't wait to get this book. When it arrived in the mail, I immediately opened it and started to read. This was one of the silliest books I have ever wasted time to read. Herky jerky plot line. Why did she start to write to him? How did she get the address? (READ the book for why it doesn't make sense.) Why she continued to sign off on wrong reports? PLEASE!!!
