A handsome collection of 45 finely detailed, ready-to color illustrations—sure to appeal to costume historians, designers and colorists alike—depicts clothing styles from every social class of the 15th and 16th centuries. Includes portraits of an Italian peasant couple in wedding dress, children of a German royal family garbed in velvet and accompanied by a soberly dressed nanny, an English lord and lady in riding outfits, and much more. Informative captions accompany each illustration.

A good start
)
This product offers a good start for some to learn about Renaissance fashion styles. Unfortunately, it does not provide much in a way of understanding that Europe during the Renaissance was more then just Italy, France, Spain or the German principalities. It would be nice to give a broader spectrum of fashion styles like in the Kingdom of Hungary which was a leading power in Europe during the Renaissance or Poland. How about Europe's main enemy the Ottoman Empire? As I have titled my review, it is a good start, but unfinished.

Great Detail in this Coloring Book!
)
This is one of my favorite coloring books illustrated by Tom Tierney, along with Victorian Fashions. There are only one or two figures per page, allowing for a lot of detail in the historically accurate portraits. The patterned gowns are especially fun to color, with intricate designs on the fabrics that invite all kinds of rich colors.

wow!!!!
I just purchased these Dover COloring Books for my mother and she loves them. The detail is out of this world and the variety of colors you can use are only limited by your inagination. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
